Shannon & Jon’s Inclusive Wedding in Cornwall
You can’t go wrong with a wedding in Cornwall, with it’s endless beauty and diverse landscape. Shannon & Jon had an intimate ceremony at the gorgeous Penryn Town Hall followed by a simple reception at the Victoria Inn in Truro.
Shannon, who is deaf in one ear and was battling a cancer diagnosis and uncertainties at the time of her wedding, shone so bright despite her health worries and stole the show in her beautiful gown and bright coloured hair. Cancer can steal so much from us, but it will never steal the love of those who hold us close. Through the turbulence of emotions and in the midst of treatment, Shannon and Jon made their love legal and eloped to the states where Jon is from. They wanted to have a UK ceremony too in Shannon’s home county of Cornwall and so that’s exactly what they did, and it was a huge honour and pleasure for me to capture it for them.
Their ceremony included special touches such as a hand tying and a sand pouring ceremony which were lovely additions. They had a small drinks reception at Penryn Town Hall Wedding and then on to the pub for cosy but fun celebrations!
I do love photographing a small intimate wedding, with just your select favourite people and keeping it simple and personal. As a Cornwall wedding photographer, I thought Penryn Town Hall was the perfect location for their ceremony and such a cute little venue! And they decorated their half of the pub so beautifully for their reception. Of course they had an outfit change too for maximum comfort! Check out more of their photos below!
